
The name "Camry" is an Anglicized phonetic spelling of the Japanese word meaning kanmuri crown. This follows the tradition of naming Toyota Crown called primary models, starting with the Toyota Crown in 1955, continue with the Toyota Corolla
and Corona, which is Latin for "crown"
and "small crown" means.
In the United States
, the Camry has a regular best-selling car in the last ten years, but sold well in some years. The Camry also sells very well in Australia, Canada and some Asian markets. Despite international success of the Camry has not sold well in its home market Japan, or Europe, where sales ended in 2004.
